U.S. MILITARY SEEN MURDERING CIVILIANS

In this Democracy Now exlusive, we see video of the United States military indiscriminately firing and killing innocent civilians in Iraq.

Initially denied by the military, officials have now admitted that this video is authentic. The video also includes audio of the comments made by the soldiers as they engaged the civilians; comments which included laughs, jokes, and congradulatory remarks.

Here again, for all of the world to see and hear, is more graphic and disturbing proof of the real reasons that the United States is hated and despised all around the globe.

RACE, ISRAEL & OBAMA’S CAPITULATIONS

Here’s a Democracy Now interview with one of the most progressive journalists and writers around today, Naomi Klein.

In the interview she discusses her recent article documenting President Obama’s convenient use of race (to save his presidential campaign) and his ignoring of it at any other time. In addition, she goes into detail about the President’s snubbing of the Conference Against Racism at the urging of Israel.

It is truly a sad day when Whites (former President Carter, Naomi Klein) recognize and care more about racism than the 1st Black President of the United States does!

SCOTT RITTER: IRANIAN NUKES IS JUST HYPE

In this Democracy Now interview, former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter gives a no spin analysis of the current sabre rattling going on with Iran’s supposed nuclear capabilities.

Central to Scott’s argument is that Iran IS NOT in violation of any international agreement. In fact, they have done what they are required to do as a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty, that is, notify the IAEA of any nuclear enrichment site and capabilities.

I might add that while Iran has signed the treaty and is abiding by it by declaring its facilities and welcoming inspectors, Israel has not, and has said they will NEVER sign the nuclear treaty! In addition, they have NEVER let inspectors inside their facilities and they won’t even confirm that they even HAVE nukes!!!!!

Mr. Ritter points out that this is just fear mongering on the part of the Obama administration and Israel. The Iranians have been clear that this facility is for energy purposes and most importantly, the IAEA has inspected Iran and found them to be in total compliance!

My money is on Scott Ritter. He’s the weapons inspector that was on the ground in Iraq during the run up to the war. He was one of the most vocal exposers of the lies about Saddam’s WMDs and as history would have it, he was right on all of his points. Odds are he’s right on these points as well.

AP: OKLAHOMA CITY SURVEILLANCE TAPES DOCTORED

I haven’t studied the Oklahoma City bombing case enough to have an informed opinion but I have studied the FBI and CIA’s history enough to know that when it comes to thier aims, anyone and anywhere can become a target.

While I know there are some views that compete with the “official version”, I’m not well versed on them. But whatever they are they just received a big boost by the recent declassification of several surveillance videos of the building before and after the blast.

Funny thing is……all four videos have been erased right before the blast and they miraculously come back on minutes after the blast!!!

Of course the FBI has some far-fetched “explanation” of how this happened but we’ll see what kind of reverberations these tapes will have.

FAMU RATTLER TAKES ON O’REILLY

I usually don’t pay much attention to what out right liars and racists like Glen Beck and Bill O’Reilly have to say but this interview with a law professor from Florida A&M University (FAMU) caught my attention.

O’Reilly, defending the indefensible, attempts to argue that the massive disrespect and racism shown toward President Obama is merely about policy differences and not race based. The law professor, a conservative (and probably Republican himself), offers several accurate and fact based arguments that prove the obvious….policy has little to do with the treatment of Obama and race has EVERYTHING to do with it.

Way to represent Rattlers!!!!

TIM WISE ON CNN: RACISM IN POLITICS

Here are two very good interview on CNN with Tim Wise on the reality of race in the nation’s views and actions toward President Obama.

In these one on one interviews Wise, an anti-racism activist and one of my favorite writers and lecturers, provides several important points about where we are and what needs to be done in today’s racial context.

Touching on everything from President Carter’s remarks to the role of Whites in removing the yoke of racism in our society, Wise certainly drives home several key points in this relatively short, but informative interviews.

THE WHITE CULTURE OF THIEVERY

Whenever Black criminals are paraded in front of new cameras or convicted for their crimes, there invariably is a chorus of remarks from conservative, right wing pundits, many whites and even some Blacks about a supposed “culture of criminality” that exists in Black society.

As ignorant as this claim is and despite the fact that this activity is clearly explained in research as being a result of extreme poverty instead of race, the assumption remains that these criminal acts are a result of some inbred leaning of Blacks toward unruliness and law breaking .

But somehow, when it comes to White folks and thier crimes, we almost always forget to apply the same standard and hence, come up with the same “biological deviance” conclusion. This despite thier relative absence from the conditions of extreme poverty and the over abundance of evidence of thier criminality.

As usual Glen Ford of The Black Agenda Report provides a clear picture of the double standard that exists when it comes to the street crimes of poverty stricken Blacks and the more pervasive white collar crimes of the White corportate class.

As the late, great psychologist Dr. Amos Wilson once said, if Whites want to speak in terms of criminality and its biological underpinnings, fine. We’ll start that conversation by shining the spotlight on them and thier actions and we’ll soon see who is the most lawless, the most deviant and the most biologically predisposed to criminality!!!!

20/20 DOCUMENTS WHITE PRIVILEDGE & RACISM

THIS VIDEO IS TRULY AMAZING!

Here we see first hand how White Priviledge and perceived Black criminality play out in the real world. What’s more, for those who are well read on criminalization data and the disproportionality of arrests, convictions and sentencing of Blacks compared to Whites, this video is the key to understanding why the numbers are the way they are.

The entire clip is amazing but what took the cake was the scene depicting the response to the two sleeping Black males at the same time that White males were engaging in a visible and recognizeable criminal act!

This is a great clip and serves as a new twist on the old addage that used to be tossed around in the Black community; that White folks’ ice was thought to be colder than Black folks’ ice. Now, as this video clearly points out, it seems that their crimes are less criminal as well!

“White Flight” Online

“White Flight” is the tendency for White residents of a community to pack and leave their communities once minorities start to move in. Studies have shown that once a neighborhood reaches about 8-10% minority makeup, Whites begin to pack up and sell which initiates the mass exodus known as White Flight.

Now, researchers have documented that White Flight is taking place in the online environment. Below is a link to an article about a Microsoft researcher and Harvard Fellow’s study of online segregation and the mass exodus of Whites from MySpace (which is seen as too “Black”, to Facebook which is seen as acceptably “White”). Of equal importance are the reasons for the switch. Behind the surface references to quicker load times and a cleaner interface are racially charged comments related to class and intelligence.

As this study shows, there’s no escaping certain realities in this society and this new manifestation of the age old practice of White Flight is simply old wine in a new skin.

HOW ENVIRONMENT CHANGES OUR GENETIC MAKEUP

In conversations of race, comments pointing to the long-lasting and pervasive effects of slavery and the trans-Atlantic slave trade are often dismissed with statements like, “why can’t Blacks just get over that?” or “that was in the past.” The documentary below shows how the science of epigenetics proves that environmental events can and do impact the expression of our genes.

Here, the BBC documentary “The Ghosts in Your Genes” follows the investigations into this emerging field in genetics. It provides evidence on how the events and traumas our ancestors endured not only changes their genetic expression of traits but how those changes are then passed from generation to the next. This new field of epigenetics is changing how scientist view evolution, genetics and heredity.

What’s particularly important to me are the implications this has for the study of Black life and culture in the U.S. Studies have already been done on the trans-generational impacts of European famines and the Jewish Holocaust. What truths have yet to be revealed about the lingering effects of the greatest holocaust known to man, the holocaust of Slavery and the Atlantic Slave trade???
